We are pleased to invite representatives from companies, organizations, universities, and colleges, as well as international students,
to our final conference for the research project »Analysis of the role and labor market potential of international students at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in the context of Thuringia (ARAPiS)« (07/2024 – 12/2025) to present the results of the research project and recommendations for practical action, which we would like to discuss with you.
We are looking forward to welcoming Prof. Dr. Axel Plünnecke as speaker. He will be talking about economic challenges in Germany,
opportunities for immigration via universities, effects on public finances and growth, and other potential, taking the situation in Thuringia into account as best as possible. Prof. Dr. Axel Plünnecke, born in 1971, Studies in economics in Göttingen, Doctorate at the Technical University of Braunschweig, is Head of Education, Innovation and Immigration Research Unit at
the German Economic Institute.
Which role can/should universities play as mediators between international graduates, companies, and politicians? How can universities work together with other local actors to improve the integration of international graduates, including their integration into
the labor market?
The event will be held in German. Live simultaneous interpretation into English will be provided for international participants.
Participation is free of charge. Please register for the event by email to receive the access details.
The ARAPiS project is funded by the structure and innovation budget of the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society.
