FIT • Fostering International Talents

Internationalisation offers a decisive locational advantage if it is integrated in a meaningful way and actively shapes the entire STUDENT LIFE CYCLE - from the start of studies to the transition to the labour market - in cooperation with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Project Aim

Against the backdrop of demographic developments, securing the demand for skilled labour and the ability to innovate in Germany will be one of the greatest challenges for politics, business and science in the coming years.

In Jena, the Friedrich Schiller University and the University of Applied Sciences Jena play a central role as drivers of innovation and productivity growth in the region. They contribute significantly to the labour market skills and successful career entry of their students. Both universities therefore focus on the development of study structures and programmes that promote studyability, academic success and employability. At the same time, broad career prospects are to be opened up and the demand for skilled labour secured.

As part of the joint project »FIT - Promotion of International Talent for Integration into Studies and the Labour Market«, both of Jena's universities are committed to the business and science location, which has a high demand for skilled workers. The aim is to strengthen the welcoming culture, counselling, professional networking and integration at the interface between business and science and to motivate international students to stay in Thuringia and Germany.
